Birthday Slide

Today we went to our nephew's 6th birthday party. I took some video with my HD Camcorder while I was there and did my first bit of editing in Adobe Premier Elements. I'm a total video amateur and this 35 second video took me over a hour to edit. It's not even that exciting...

Anyway, I hope to hone my editing skills so that I can bring you more HD video content rather than the low quality stuff I've been shooing with my point-and-shoot camera's video feature.

Christmas Cards

Every December Rob and I look through the few photos we have taken for the year and choose a Christmas card photo. For you who have received them you know they are always goofy. I look pretty much the same in every photo, but Rob is a wild card. As you can see in this picture, even with a beautiful baby, not much has changed.



But... this picture is a winner. Maybe the key is to be more discreet!

Something Clicks

Now five weeks old, Cooper had his first interactive Smile! I was holding him and making faces at him when he spontaneously "cooed" (also a first) then erupted in a big smile. Although he has smiled in the past, it has always been completely random and uninstigated by his surroundings. Today was different.

I quickly grabbed the camera to see if I could duplicate the action, but Coop pretended like it never happened. In the first video you can see that he's looking at me and following me with his eyes, even though there's a camera blocking my face somewhat.

Later, I hit pay-dirt with a rousing session of "Peek-a-boo". A snippet of this is shown in the 2nd video (thanks to Janelle for the camera work). I'm certain that Peek-a-boo will quickly become one of our favorite past-times...

What a face!

Today Cooper had the hiccups for such a long time. They sound so painful, but yet they don't seem to bother him. He was making the best faces while hiccuping so I decided to take a few pics. Here they are for your enjoyment!

Big foot!

Just wanted to share this picture of my son's amazingly big feet. Rob's famous line is, "You know what they say about men with big feet... they wear big socks!" I guess when your dad wears a size 12 that is what you get!

Name that Rhoads

My mom sent me some pictures of myself as a young lad and I thought I'd satisfy everyone's curiosity by posting a side-by-side of Baby Cooper and Baby Rob. Now you can see just how much (or how little?) we look alike. So far everyone says Cooper is a spitting image of his old man, I say he's far cuter, but you can make the call...
